Feeding the trolls
Writing politicians has become an exercise in futility. The indefensible "Patriot Act" evokes the most bizarre repsonses. A recent form letter I received boils down to:
•What you say is simply not true and
•The laws have been on the books for years anyway and
•There is no reason to believe that granting enormous powers to deranged people who resist accountability will turn out badly and
•To protect our freedoms - which cause terrorists to kill us by thousands, we have to renounce them and
•If you're pissed off now, just wait until we convene to review the "Patriot Act" to see how we can make it even more heinous.
